Luke Mittelstadt, a junior defenseman for the University of Minnesota from Eden Prairie, Minn., is a key player for the Gophers. Drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in 2023, he earned All-Big Ten Honorable Mention as a sophomore, tallying 20 points in 38 games. As a freshman, he recorded 21 points, making the NCAA Frozen Four All-Tournament Team. Prior to college, Mittelstadt excelled with the Madison Capitols in the USHL, where he was an All-USHL First Team selection, and won a state championship at Eden Prairie High School. He also represented Team USA, winning bronze at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship.
